Who
is the photographer?
Why does he photograph?
And why nude photography?
Who......
I was
born in a small town near Magdeburg in Germany. After quite a few different
hobbies in my childhood I discovered photography only during my army service.
The dark room of our barracks was close to the music room. Instead of waiting
for my friend to make music I joined a fellow photographer who developed
my pictures. It was amazing to see the pictures taking shape in the different
solutions. I was hooked....
But it
took me a while until I returned to the photography. During my studies
in Dresden I bought the whole equipment necessary for a dark room. Together
with a friend of mine we had our first jobs in student clubs. With this
income I bought my first real camera.
During
this time I discovered my main interest laid in photographing people. But
it took me another while until I took it serious. And then I understood
that photography was my favourite hobby.
Why......
During
the programming of this web page I thought for the first time about why.
Why do I like photography especially nude photography so much? So, here
I try to explain my reasons:
First
I try to find a concept - something like: With this model I'd like to realise
this or that pose. Then there are different backgrounds to consider (outdoor,
indoor - beach, mountains, studio etc.).
I discuss
these ideas with my model. And the excitement and expectation about our
project starts to grow inside me. On the way to our location I can't wait
anymore to work and my inner tension rises as well.
In the
moment I look through the lens and see, that what we planned really comes
through, I'm truly happy. Then I know that it works - the pictures will
be good! To work with a model is a unique experience - it is a common try
to produce the best pictures possible.
It amazes
me every time how both of us starting to improvise. New ideas are coming
up and leading to (hopefully) even better pictures.
When
I hold the negative in my hands - yes, the same feeling returns - we will
get good pictures.
But
only when I have the finished images I know what we achieved together.
Good pictures - maybe..... everybody knows what he or she can see.
But
if the model can find the same - then you know for sure that other people
can see what you want to express.
And at
this very moment it starts all over again. Maybe we can produce even better
pictures - maybe a small change here and there. Let's give it a try.......
And
why......
...nude
photography?
Quite
simple - at least for me. The female body is the only true expression of
real beauty. But I don't want to photograph only beautiful people. No,
really not!!
But
to photograph a body or a person in a way that you can see its beauty -
that my aim! To see the beauty of a person and to make it possible that
other people can see it as well...that is what I want to try....I hope
I succeed....
To use
light and shadow to produce unique body shapes - that's my aim!!!
It's
all out there - but it is difficult to see (or difficult to make it visible).
